"I was lucky enough as a reader to be able to “get in on the ground floor” with this story, and have had the privilege of being able to proof it in it’s various stages of conception over the years. The published story of today has undergone a lot of changes since I read the first draft of the book as a young man, but has retained it’s charm and ability to draw the reader into the world where cats reign supreme. L. R. Slack strikes a graceful balance in keeping the story light and fun enough for a younger reader to be easily immersed and engaged in the story, while diving deeper into the weightier concepts of good and evil, love and loss, and the importance of fellowship in darker times.
Despite being a book geared towards young adults, the story of the Cats of Katlyn has something to offer to all readers out there, and I could not begin to recommend it more."
